Redmi S2 Launched with 16 MP Selfie, Dual Rear Camera, Infinity Display

Xiaomi launched first phone under S series i.e. “Redmi S2”. This is one of the selfie centric phone to click a perfect selfie for you. As a highlight, it comes with 16-megapixel sensor on front with 2-micron pixels. This camera comes with AI-based beautification features, which makes it a perfect selfie phone. At back panel it comes with dual-camera setup (one is 12 MP and Another is 5 MP), which are aligned vertically, just like iPhone X. Other highlights include Face Unlock, 18:9 display and  Xiao Ai voice assistant.

This phone is powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. This octa-core unit is clocked at 1.8 GHz. Snapdragon 625 is the processor, which is over used by Xiaomi. Other Xiaomi phone which comes with SD625 are Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 5, Mi Max 2, Mi A1 etc. Processor is able to perform smooth multi-tasking and gaming. This phone is running on  Android 8.1 Oreo OS along with MIUI 9 skin on top of it.


It comes with dual rear camera at back i.e. 12 MP main sensor and 5 MP secondary sensor. This back camera setup comes with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (Phase detection auto-focus) and LED flash. Other Important features of camera includes  AI Portrait Mode, HDR, and facial recognition. Front camera on S2 is a 16 MP sensor with 2-microns pixels. Front camera comes with combined features like AI Portrait Mode, AI Smart Beauty, Front HDR, and Face Unlock.
Talking about display, Redmi S2 sports  5.99-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels. Based on storage and RAM, phone has 2 variants. 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 999 (Approx Rs. 10500), while 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,299 (Approx Rs. 13500). It also supports micro SD card upto 256 GB. On connectivity front it comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB port. Redmi S2 is backed by 3080 mAh battery.
