Sony launched 2 phones “Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra” in CES 2018. These phones will hit global market in February 2018. These phones are upgrade to Xperia X1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra. These phones will have single and dual SIM variants. We can expect dual-SIM variants for India.
Both Xperia smartphones have loop surface design composed of anodized Aluminium sides. Top and bottom of the phones have diamond cut finish. Unlike the new trend, phones does not comes with small bezels or big display. It comes with regular 16:9 display and bezels are available around the edges of display. It features a fingerprint scanner at back panel.
Xperia XA2 features 5.2 inch full HD display, while XA2 Ultra features 6 inch full HD display. Resolution of these display is same i.e. 1080×1920 pixels. Both of these phone comes with protection of corning gorilla glass on display. Both phones are powered by QUALCOMM’s Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor. Xperia XA2 comes with 3 GB RAM and, while XA2 Ultra comes with 4 GB RAM. Internal storage of these phones is same i.e. 32 GB, which is further expandable up to 256 GB via micro SD card.
Rear camera of both phones is 23 MP Sony Exmos RS sensor to click perfect pictures. On front both have different sensors. Xperia XA2 comes with single camera setup i.e. 8 MP Exmos R sensor to click 120 degree wide selfie. Xperia XA2 Ultra comes with dual camera setup (16 MP Exmos RS sensor +8 MP Exmos R sensor) with optical image stabilization. Both of these Xperia phones are running on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.
On connectivity front both comes with 4G VoLTE, 3G, 2G, FM, Wi-FI, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. Xperia XA2 is backed by 3300 mAh battery, while Xperia XA2 Ultra is powered by 3850 mAh battery. Both comes with support of QUALCOMM’s Quick Charge 3.0. Multiple color variants will be available for both phones. Silver, Blue, Black, and Pink are color variants available for Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra.
